19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after spring of that year.

The win also signifies the Russian has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced service.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game chances in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
